Saturday, August 30 - Music filled the air at The Waikoloa Bowl In The Queens' Gardens Saturday night as music legends Earth Wind & Fire took the stage for an incredible performance. The crowd was delighted while listening to such hits as September, Got To Get You Into My Life, and Let's Groove.
Having never been to an Earth Wind & Fire concert before, Marnie and I were amazed at how many hit tunes they have and to the depth of talent displayed by EWF. After some research, I learned that EWF started in 1971 and have enjoyed a very steady and successful career including their very own star on Hollywood's Walk of Fame in 1995.

We arrived a little late from dinner, but upon finding a parking spot, easily navigated our way into the The Waikoloa Bowl. It's a beautiful venue, and reminds me a little of Deer Creek (now Verizon Center) back in Indiana. Sitting under the stars enjoying great music at this venue is simply a TREAT!

There's not a bad seat in the house, and you'll find it very easy to get around. At the top of the venue, there's a very nice food and beverage area with many of the best known restaurants providing food and appetizers, and there are also several beer garden styled tents.

After the concert, we were fortunate to meet Verdine White (founding member and bass player of Earth Wind & Fire) for a quick picture!

What a fantastic weekend, and congratulations to The Queens' MarketPlace for their fantastic Grand Opening. Events and activities were abundant this weekend, and as referenced in the above story, Earth Wind & Fire managed to kick-off the Grand Opening in style and make this a weekend to remember for a very long time.

We took the kids on Sunday to have fun with the many events going on, and were able to visit Island Gourmet Markets during their grand opening. This is an incredible market- they have a HUGE selection of everything you can imagine.  (See Queens' MarketPlace Cont'd page 3)
